The once prosperous civilization vanished beyond the darkness of time. The land, meanwhile, was occupied by the corrupted jungle, a forest of gigantic mushrooms that emit poisonous fumes. The remaining human population in the regions surrounding the contaminated zone is small. They are people who have organized themselves into a series of kingdoms scattered here and there. This is the story of Nausicaä and the Valley of the Wind, a small kingdom of barely 500 inhabitants, barely protected from the pollution of the corrupted jungle by the breeze that blows in from the ocean.
